Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release

HAGERSTOWN, MD - Jonathan Singleton doubled in three runs in the first inning, and that was all the support Jarred Cosart would need as the BlueClaws cruised to a 3-0 win Tuesday night.

Jonathan Villar, Adam Buschini, and Leandro Castro all hit singles on the first three pitches of the game from lefty Dan Rosenbaum (L, 1-2) to load the bases for Singleton.

The 18-year old first baseman took full advantage of the opportunity clearing the bases with a double to deep center to make it 3-0 early. Singleton has now driven in 20 runs in his 20 games as a BlueClaw.

Jarred Cosart (W, 6-1) took over from there, pitching a complete game shutout (seven innings), giving up just three hits and striking out five.

The BlueClaws (30-23) also won earlier in the day, 8-7 in 14 innings in a continuation of the postponed game from May 27th. Lakewood is now two games up on Hagerstown (28-25) in the SAL North, three games back of first place Hickory.

Wednesday at 7:05 pm RHP Brody Colvin (3-6, 5.69) goes against RHP Josh Smoker (0-5, 7.67). Colvin has allowed only three earned runs in his last 19 innings of work.
