Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release
LAKEWOOD, NJ - The BlueClaws will host their annual ALS Celebrity Waiter event on Wednesday, May 26th, at 6 pm at FirstEnergy Park.
BlueClaws players will serve as the waiters and the coaching staff will be the bartenders at the event, which will be held for the 10th time.
A cocktail hour and reception, which includes a meet and greet with BlueClaws players and coaches, will be held from 6 pm - 7 pm, with a buffet dinner to follow.
All proceeds, including tips, will benefit the ALS Association of Greater Philadelphia, the principal charity of the Phillies. The first nine years have raised over $90,000 for ALS patients and their families.
"This is one of our favorite events every year," said BlueClaws General Manager Geoff Brown. "The fans always get a huge kick out of interacting with the players they see every day, now serving as their waiters."
The event will also feature silent auctions on different merchandise, including a jersey autographed by the entire team. Merchandise from former BlueClaws and current Philadelphia Phillies will also be a part of the auctions.
Tickets for the event are now on sale by calling Lisa Carone at 732-901-7000 ext 192. Admission is $50 and includes a buffet dinner, dessert, coffee, and autographs. Reservations must be made in advance and space is limited.
The Lakewood BlueClaws are currently in their tenth season of providing affordable family fun and entertainment at the Jersey Shore. They have led the South Atlantic League in attendance in each year of existence and went over the 4-million mark in 2009.
Tickets to BlueClaws games are currently on sale at 732-901-7000 or online at BlueClaws.com.
