Blades get Leggio back from AHL

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Malcolm Cameron announced today that goaltender David Leggio has been reassigned to the club by the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League.

Leggio spent two weeks with the River Rats and saw action in one game, a 7-3 loss at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on December 6. Leggio faced 33 shots in the losing effort. The 24-year-old rookie returns to the Everblades where he has skated in eight games, posting a 5-2-1 record with a 2.16 goals against average.

In a separate move the Everblades activated defenseman A.J. Thelen from the 3-day injured reserve list. The 22-year-old has been out of the lineup since suffering an injury in Florida's 12-0 win over the Augusta Lynx on November 22. In 13 games this season Thelen has recorded four assists and 13 penalty minutes.

The Everblades return to action tonight when they host the South Carolina Stingrays at 7:30 p.m. Tonight is also the annual "Teddy Bear Toss" at Germain Arena. All fans are asked to bring a stuffed toy with them to the game and toss it on the ice when the Everblades score their first goal.
