Buffalo Bisons News Release

The Buffalo Bisons today announced that $15,000 was raised from the showing of Buffalo Sabres NHL Playoff games on the Dunn Tire Park Big Board. The funds will be donated to four local charities in a check presentation prior to the Herd's game against the Indianapolis Indians on Monday, June 19 (7:05 p.m.).

The $15,000 will be divided among Western New York United Against Drug and Alcohol Abuse, Carly's Club, the Susan G. Komen Foundation and Mercy Flight. Representatives of all four charities, Sabres Director of Public Relations Mike Gilbert and Sabrestooth will be present in the pre game ceremony.

"The Bisons are extremely pleased to present these funds to such great local causes," said Mike Buczkowski, Vice President/General Manager of the Buffalo Bisons. "The Sabres' chase for the Stanley Cup brought us all together as a community and now these worthy charities will benefit from that."

The Bisons showed a total of six games on the Dunn Tire Park Big Board during the Sabres' thrilling run in the playoffs. Fans were invited to watch games 3, 4 and 5 of the series against the Ottawa Senators as well as games 4, 5 and 6 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Carolina Hurricanes. Admission to the ballpark was free, but the Bisons asked for a $2 donation to benefit the charities.
