Junior Lake hit his first home run of the season in the third inning Monday night at PNC Field.

The Buffalo Bisons and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders went blow-for-blow Monday night at PNC Field, but it was a four-double combination that landed the Herd a 9-6 decision, ending a three-game losing streak.

Andy Burns leadoff double got the ball rolling in the ninth. Two batters later, Jesus Montero's second two-bagger of the night cashed in Burns to break a 6-6 tie. Casey Kotchman followed with a bloop shot to left field that bounced away from Ben Gambel which allowed him to get to into scoring position with Montero.

Two batters later, with two out, Matt Dominguez scorched a grounder just inside the third base bag to put the Bisons up by three. A day after hitting his first home run as a member of the Herd, Dominguez finished the game with three hits, a walk, and four RBI.

Other Buffalo batters also made the most of their 15 hits - eight went for extra bases.

Junior Lake doubled in the second inning and hit his first homerun of the season in the third. Kotchman also belted his first of the year to get the Bisons on the board in the top of the second.

Drew Hutchison came in Monday's contest with a league-best .034 opponent batting average. He had given up only one hit over 9.1 innings but issued six walks in his two prior starts. The 6' 3" righty changed that trend, allowing 10 hits to the RailRiders, while striking out six without dealing a free pass.

Chad Girodo surrendered his first run of the season in the eighth. Slade Heathcott led off the inning with a bunt hit. He then landed at third after a steal of second and a throwing error to catcher A.J Jimenez. Heathcott came home on a sac-fly from Nick Swisher to tie the game.

Girodo was charged with a blown save but eventually came out with the win.

Ryan Tepera gave up back-to-back walks in the bottom of the ninth, bringing the tying run to the plate. He settled down after a visit from pitching coach Bob Stanley, inducing a groundout from Gary Sanchez before striking out Slade Heathcott to pick up the save.

BISONS NOTES:

Dalton Pompey has reached base in all seven games he's played in...A.J. Jimenez was activated for Monday's game...The save was Ryan Tepera's first of the year. He converted on three of four opportunities in 2015...The 29 combined hits were the most in a Bisons game since a 12-2 loss to the RailRiders at PNC Field on September 3rd of last year.
