Bisons place INF Mauro Gomez on the Disabled List, activate RHP Todd Redmond

The Buffalo Bisons today placed INF MAURO GOMEZ on the disabled list, retroactive to August 4. With the roster room, the Herd officially activated RHP TODD REDMOND, who was optioned from the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday.

Gomez left the Bisons 5-3 victory over Pawtucket on Saturday in the eighth inning. The International League All-Star leads the International League with 28 home runs, a total that is also tied for the 3rd most in all of minor league baseball. Gomez also leads the Bisons with 67 RBI (5th in the IL) and 46 extra-base hits (4th in the IL). In a team-high 97 games, Gomez has averaged .243 (87-358) with 17 doubles, a triple and 55 runs scored.

Redmond has pitched in six games for the Bisons this season. The veteran is 3-1 with a 5.06 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 26.2 innings this season.
