
Syracuse Chiefs to Face Yankees, Red Sox Affiliates this Week

Syracuse, NY - The Syracuse Chiefs, fresh off a 7-3 road trip, will return to NBT Bank Stadium on Tuesday, August 6 to begin a six-day homestand that will feature games against IL North Division rivals Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (NY Yankees affiliate) and Pawtucket (Boston Red Sox affiliate).
The homestand will get underway on Tuesday, August 6 when the Chiefs and RailRiders will complete a game that was suspended on July 12 in Scranton. The game will resume at 6:00pm with the score tied and the Chiefs batting in the top of the 12th inning. The regularly scheduled 9-inning game between the two teams will follow the completion of the suspended game. The games will be treated as a single-admission doubleheader, meaning one game ticket is valid for both games. Tuesday will be the second Hofmann Two-for-Tuesday of the year and fans can pick up complimentary General Admission tickets at Hofmann Hot Haus locations. Fans can also enjoy Two for Two$day featuring 2-for-1 hot dogs and 2-for-1 medium fountain sodas at the concourse concession stands, plus a Budweiser Happy Hour with 12 ounce draft Budweiser and Bud Light being sold for only $3 each at the third base cold beer stand on the concourse from the time the gates open at 5:30pm until 7:00pm. In addition, the Get Golf Ready Family Fun Zone will be set up for fans to enjoy before and during the game. The attraction will allow golfers of all ages the opportunity to interact with local PGA professionals.
The Chiefs and RailRiders are scheduled to meet again on Wednesday, August 7 for a single game beginning at 7:00pm. Area businesses will be on display during the game as part of Buy Local Night presented by Syracuse First and fans will be encouraged to visit the display tables for a chance to win gift certificates and other great prizes from the participating organizations. Wednesday is also CNY Postal Customer Council Night with special price tickets available to CNYPCC members and postal employees through a password provided by CNYPCC. Wednesday is also the final Dunkin' Donuts Reloadable Card Night of the season - fans can show a Dunkin' Donuts reloadable gift card at the ticket office to purchase Reserved tickets for only $9 each (regular price $12) - as well as the final Wacky Wednesday - purchase a chicken tender basket combo (chicken tenders, french fries, medium fountain soda) at Chicken Fry Fry and receive a free fried dough. Fans can also enjoy Budweiser Happy Hour from the time the gates open at 6:00pm until first pitch with 12 ounce Budweiser and Bud Light drafts being sold for only $3 each at the third base cold beer stand on the main concourse.
The IL Wild Card-leading Pawtucket Red Sox will come to town on Thursday, August 8 for a 5:00pm, single-admission doubleheader that will begin a four-day, five-game series with the Chiefs. Thursday's promotions include CNY Area Labor Federation Night with complimentary General Admission tickets available from participating unions, CSEA Night which will include complimentary window decals for the first 2,000 fans through the gates, and Baldwinsville Community Night featuring Baldwinsville area businesses on display during the game. Thursday is also Thirsty Thursday - 12 ounce fountain sodas and 12 ounce draft beers will be sold for $2 each throughout the game - and Price Chopper AdvantEdge Card Night - present a Price Chopper AdvantEdge Card at the ticket office to purchase Reserved seats for only $9 each (regular price $12).
The annual Lockheed Martin Family Night will be held on Friday, August 9 when the Chiefs and Red Sox are scheduled to meet at 7:00pm. The night will include a spectacular post-game fireworks show, free Chiefs sunglasses to the first 2,500 children 12 & younger, and free Chiefs pennants for the first 2,500 fans through the gates compliments of Lockheed Martin. In addition, the first 500 fans through the stadium gates will receive a coupon from the New York Lottery and lottery tickets will be sold on the concourse during the game for New York Lottery Night. A Chiefs victory will mean coupons for fans thanks to Chiefs Win, You Win presented by Pole Position Raceway. If the Chiefs defeat the Red Sox in Friday's game all fans in attendance will receive a coupon from Pole Position Raceway in Destiny USA. Former Chiefs outfielder Mack Jones will be inducted posthumously into the International League Hall of Fame in a pre-game ceremony on Friday. Jones played for the Chiefs in 1964 and hit 39 home runs, a community ownership era (since 1961) record, to go with a .317 batting average and 102 RBI. As part of the celebration, the International League's traveling Hall of Fame display will be set up on the concourse during the game. Friday is also LUNGevity Night - a portion of all tickets sold online at ChiefsGroups.com using a password provided by the LUNGevity Foundation will help LUNGevity in its mission to stop lung cancer.
The Chiefs and the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund of CNY will host Breast Cancer Awareness Night presented by AmeriCU on Saturday, August 10 before and during the Chiefs' 7:00pm game against the Paw Sox. A pink cocktail party with special guests Billy & Carol Baldwin will be held in the Hank Sauer Room beginning at 6:00pm when the gates open. Admission to the pink cocktail party is $50 per person and includes game ticket, parking, hors d' oeuvres, and a cash bar. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund of CNY. Saturday is also Skaneateles Community Night featuring Skaneateles area businesses on display during the game as well as Make-A-Wish Central New York Night - a portion of all tickets sold online at ChiefsGroups.com using a password provided by Make-A-Wish Central New York will help grant a wish for a local wish kid.
The homestand will conclude with the second Stockholders Night of the season on Sunday, August 11. Chiefs stockholders are invited to a reception in the Hank Sauer Room starting when the gates open at 4:00pm for the 5:00pm game. Admission is only $14 per person and stockholders can make reservations by calling 315-474-7833. Sunday is also a Knot Hole Gang Day and members will receive a free Hofmann hot dog, drink provided by Coca-Cola, and ice cream provided by Perry's by reporting to guest services on the concourse behind home plate before or during the game. Members will also have the opportunity to run the bases on the field after the game. Parents may register their children ages 12 and younger for the free club at guest services or online at SyracuseChiefs.com. Fans can also take advantage of Free Fries Sunday - purchase a Chiefs dog, hamburger, or cheeseburger at Syracuse Land & Cattle and receive free french fries with your order.
An Autograph Session with a Chiefs player will be held in Whistlestop Souvenirs on the concourse before the game on Friday (6:15pm-6:30pm), Saturday (6:15pm-6:30pm), and Sunday (4:15pm-4:30pm).
