TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons host the Syracuse Chiefs in the final game of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.). The Herd picked up a 6-5 win last night to claim sole possession of first place in the North Division. Buffalo has won six of their last seven games. After tonight's game, the Bisons begin a season long 10-game roadtrip in Rochester.

SERIOUSLY GOOD: The Bisons have won three consecutive series. The Herd took two of three over the Chiefs at Alliance Bank Stadium, April 20-22, and two of three from the IronPigs at Coca-Cola Park, April 23-25. The Bisons then won all three of the games that were played against Rochester, April 27-29. With a win tonight, the Herd will win their fourth consecutive series.

THRUWAY CUP: With last night's win, the Bisons' (9-4) increased their lead in the Thruway Series standings up to three games. Buffalo is 4-2 against Syracuse (5-6) this year and 5-2 against the Red Wings (4-8). The Herd has not won a Thruway Cup since 2007.

HUGE HEFNER: RHP JEREMY HEFNER will make his fifth start of the season tonight. The righty worked a season-best 7.2 innings in a no-decision on April 28 vs. Rochester. In that outing, he allowed just three runs (two earned) with five strikeouts in a 4-3 Bisons win. That outing was Hefner's first since a one-game promotion to the Mets. Hefner made his big league debut with three shutout innings of relief for New York on April 23.

TO NEW YORK: OF VINNY ROTTINO had his contract selected by the Mets today. The only Bison to play in all 27 games this year, Rottino hit .317 (33-104) with eight doubles, one home run and 14RBI. He leaves the Bisons on a 14-game hit streak, the 2nd longest streak in the IL. To make roster room, the Mets have optioned RHP CHRIS SCHWINDEN to the Bisons.

ROSTER MOVES: RHP ELVIN RAMIREZ joins the Bisons today from Binghamton (AA). The 24-year old will make his Triple-A debut after going 0-1 with a 1.38ERA and one save in eight games with the B-Mets. LHP CHUCK JAMES has been placed on the Bisons disabled list, retroactive to May 2. C JEAN LUC BLAQUIERE has also been activated by the Herd.

METS UPDATE : The Mets (13-12) open up a three-game series with the Diamondbacks tonight. New York was off yesterday. Former Bisons RHP DILLON GEE gets the start for the Mets tonight. New York enters play tonight in third place in the National League East Division, three games back of the Washington Nationals.
