Mets Select Contract of Bisons OF Vinny Rottino, Option RHP Chris Schwinden to Herd

The New York Mets today announced that they have selected the contract of Buffalo Bisons OF VINNY ROTTINO. New York also announced that RHP CHRIS SCHWINDEN has been optioned to the Bisons

Rottino, 32, is the only player to have played in all 27 games for the Bisons this season. The outfielder has hit .317 (33-104) with eight doubles, a triple, a home run and 14RBI. He leaves the Bisons on a 14-game hit streak (.339, 19-56) -the second longest hit streak in the International League this season.

Schwinden returns to the Bisons, where he has the fourth lowest ERA in the International League (2.05). The righty made four starts with Buffalo to begin the season and was 2-2 with one complete game (22.0IP, 14H, 9BB, 13K). Schwinden was the Bisons 2011 Most Valuable Pitcher.
