Today's Game

Tonight, the Bisons host the Syracuse Chiefs in the final home game at Coca-Cola Field in 2015 (6:05 p.m.). Buffalo will conclude their season on Labor Day after five road contests in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Pawtucket. The Bisons are 34-37 in downtown Buffalo this year.

vs. the Chiefs

The Bisons are 12-8 against the Chiefs. It's the third time in the last four years the Herd has posted double-digit wins against Syracuse. Buffalo has not won 13 games against one opponent in a season since going 13-3 against the SkyChiefs in 2002.

Donn Roach

RHP DONN ROACH will make his first career start with the Bisons tonight. The righty allowed three runs in four innings of relief in his Herd debut, last Friday against Pawtucket. In 22 Triple-A starts between Iowa (15GS) and Louisville (7GS), Roach is 9-6 with a 3.50 ERA with 140 hits allowed and 51 strikeouts in 131.0 innings of work.

MattVP is the MVP

On Tuesday, INF MATT HAGUE was officially named the 2015 International League Most Valuable Player today. Hague is the ninth Bisons player to win the award, 2nd most in IL history. The last Bisons player to be named IL MVP was SS Jhonny Peralta in 2004. Hague leads the IL in average (.345), hits (172), RBI (88), on-base pct. (.422) and total bases (239) and is 2nd in slugging pct. (479).

Andy Burns

INF ANDY BURNS is putting the wraps on a stellar Triple-A rookie season. He now has 133 hits on the season, the 6th most in the International League this year. If not for Matt Hague's MVP season, Burns' 133 hits would be the most for a Bison since OF Jesus Feliciano had 154 hits in 2009. Burns ranks 9th in the IL with a .292 average.

Bobby Korecky

RHP BOBBY KORECKY made his 124th appearance for the Bisons last night, the 2nd most in the team's modern era behind only RHP Fernando Cabrera (136). The veteran is also one save shy of Cabrera's team record 30. Korecky s 11-8 with a 3.18 ERA in his Bisons career.

Bisons Bits

LHP CHAD GIRODO threw a scoreless inning in his Triple-A debut last night...OF DANNY DORN has gone 1-3 in each of his first two games with the Herd.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (75-57) won in walk-off fashion, 5-3 over the Indians on Tuesday. Former Bisons 2B Ryan Goins hit the two-run walk-off home run in the 10th inning. Goins has now hit in 11 straight games for Toronto. The Blue Jays host the Indians in the rubbermatch of their three-game set at 7:07 p.m.
