Buffalo, NY (September 2, 2015) - The Syracuse Chiefs beat the Buffalo Bisons, 6-2, Wednesday night at Coca-Cola Field. Syracuse scored six runs between the seventh and eighth innings to sweep the two-game series and win their fourth straight against the Bisons.

Buffalo (68-71) broke a scoreless tie in the fifth inning. Danny Dorn doubled off Paolo Espino with two outs. Alex Hassan followed with a single to left, and the throw to the plate by Ricky Hague wasn't handled by catcher Steve Lerud to allow Dorn to score and give the Bisons a 1-0 lead.

Syracuse (62-76) rallied in the seventh off Ben Rowen, who had previously not given up a run in 15 innings with the Bisons this year. Ricky Hague singled with one out to start the rally and moved to second base on a groundout. Darin Mastroianni then singled to center field, and Hague slid in just ahead of Melky Mesa's throw to the plate, tying the game at one. Emmanuel Burriss followed with another RBI single to score Mastroianni and give the Chiefs a 2-1 lead.

The Chiefs broke the game open in the eighth. Rowen hit Matt Skole with a pitch to start the inning. After a groundout, Kevin Keyes singled to end Rowen's outing. Chad Girodo came out of the bullpen, and Caleb Ramsey hit a ground ball to first. Matt Hague nearly collided with Girodo on the play and failed to tag Ramsey, allowing Skole to score on the RBI fielder's choice. Two batters later, Steve Lerud reached on an infield single to load the bases. Mastroianni followed with a three-run double to break open the game and give Syracuse a 6-1 lead.

The Bisons added another run in the bottom of the eighth. Alex Hassan singled off P.J. Walters, and Ty Kelly doubled to put two in scoring position. Ryan Schimpf grounded out to first base, scoring Hassan to bring Buffalo within four. However, the Bisons left two on base and got no closer.

Syracuse hits the road for their final series away from NBT Bank Stadium, a two-game set against Lehigh Valley. The Chiefs will send Richard Bleier to the mound Thursday night opposite David Buchanan for the IronPigs. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
