Today's Game

Tonight, the Bisons take on the Syracuse Chiefs in the second game of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field (6:05 p.m.). The Herd has lost three in a row after starting this seven-game homestand with a 5-3 win over Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday night. Buffalo is now just 3-8 at home this season and an even .500 (8-8) on the road.

Last Game (SYR 14, BUF 6)

Four RBI from OF Junior Lake helped the Bisons take a 5-4 lead into the 7th inning, but the Chiefs rallied and ran away with a 14-6 win. Syracuse tied the game in the 7th and then scored seven runs in the eighth to had the Herd its biggest defeat of the season. Buffalo has now lost six games it has led in the 7th inning this year.

vs. Syracuse (1-3)

The Bisons lost a three-game series at NBT Bank Stadium, April 12-13 that included a doubleheader split. Buffalo was 12-9 against the Chiefs last year, a record that included a 6-5 record at the 11 games at Coca-Cola Field. At 5-2, the Chiefs lead the 2016 Thruway Cup standings by a game over Rochester (6-5) and 3.5 games over the Herd (4-8).

Scott Diamond

LHP Scott Diamond makes his Bisons' team-best sixth start of the season tonight. The southpaw has only started one other home game this year, a victory in the Herd Home Opener on April 14 against Rochester. In that start, he worked a season-best seven innings and gave up just one run on six hits. Diamond has held right-handed hitters to a .176 average against with a .257 slugging pct.

Junior Lake

OF Junior Lake had a three-run home run and an RBI-single as part of his three-hit game last night. The outfielder has now hit in four straight games with a .429 (6-14) average in May. Eight of Lake's 20 hits on the season have come with runners in scoring position (.258, 8-31).

David Adams

INF David Adams brings a seven-game hit streak into tonight's game. The infielder has averaged .444 (8-18) since April 24 with three doubles, five RBI and five walks. Adams has reached base safely in 15 of his 17 starts with the Bisons and has a .371 on-base pct. on the year.

Bisons Bits

INF Andy Burns is tied for 1st in the IL with nine doubles. He has driven in six runs over his last five games...INF Jesus Montero is 3rd in the IL with 31 base hits. He has reached safely in 23 of his 26 games this season...OF Junior Lake's 4-RBI game last night was already the Herd's fifth of the year, with INF Jesus Montero driving in a Buffalo' season-high five on April 10 in Pawtucket.

Blue Jays Update

There was no late-inning dramatics for the Blue Jays (15-15) on Thursday. Following back-to-back walk-off wins, Toronto posted a 12-2 victory over Texas. DH Edwin Encarnacion had a three-run home run and a three-run double to drive in half of the runs. Former Bisons CF Kevin Pillar also had three hits and two RBI. Toronto hosts the Dodgers tonight (7:07 p.m.).
