Today's Game

Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Gwinnett Braves in the first game of a three-game series at Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.). The Bisons are coming off a 2-0 rain-shorted sweep of the RailRiders in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Tonight's game opens a five-game homestand, as Syracuse comes to town for a two-game set, July 2-3.

vs. the Braves

Tonight's matchup will be the first of the season between Buffalo and Gwinnett. Last year, the Herd went 1-6 against the Braves, and were swept in the three games played at Coca-Cola Field. Buffalo has not won a season series against Gwinnett since 2012, when they went 6-2.

Scott Copeland

RHP Scott Copeland will make his eighth start of the season tonight. His last appearance with the Bisons came on June 4, when he gave up two hits in five innings to earn his fourth win of the year on the road against Louisville. Since then, he has been called up to Toronto twice, starting three games for the Blue Jays (1-1, 8.03 ERA).

MattVP

INF MATT HAGUE delivered a two-RBI single to open up the scoring in the third inning on Sunday. Hague continues to lead the International League with a .343 batting average, which is 18 points higher than any other batter. He also ranks first in the IL in hits (96) and on-base pct. (.424). He is 2nd in doubles (20) and RBI (48), tied for 2nd in runs scored (39) is 3rd in slugging pct. (.464), and tied for 3rd in total bases (130).

Gregory Infante

RHP GREGORY INFANTE made his team-high 29th appearance out of the bullpen yesterday -tied for the 3rd most among International League relievers. Infante earned his third save of the season on Sunday and has now allowed just two runs in his last 20 outings since May 8.

Bisons Bits

Following this series, Buffalo will host just one more opponent from outside the IL North, as Columbus will come to Coca-Cola Field July 16-19...The Herd will play 16 of its next 22 games at home...The Bisons are a league-best 27-4 (.871) when scoring first in games...Hitting Coach Richie Hebner will be serving as the team's manager for the next four days as Gary Allenson will take his Blue Jays-mandated four-day break.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (41-36) defeated the Rangers 3-2 Sunday to win the series 2-1. RHP Drew Hutchison won his eighth game of the season, giving up four hits and an unearned run while striking out eight in 5.2 innings of work. Toronto continues their homestand tonight, as they begin a four-game series against the Red Sox at the Rogers Centre (7:07 p.m.)
