This was a resumption of the suspended June 5 game in which the Wings led 1-0 after two innings with Reynaldo Rodriguez hitting a one-out single in the first inning, and Oswaldo Arcia drilling an RBI double to put the Wings ahead 1-0.

After three straight scoreless innings by Sox pitcher Keith Couch, the Wings scored in the bottom of the sixth. Rodriguez started off the inning with a double to left field. Arcia moved Rodriguez over to third on a groundout. Aaron Hicks knocked in Rodriguez with a sacrifice fly to make the game 2-0 Wings.

The Wings loaded the bases with none out in the seventh. Eric Farris brought in a run with a sacrifice fly, and another run scored on a fielder's choice grounder by Doug Bernier to make it 4-0 Wings. Rodriguez lofted a triple to the right field corner, bringing in another run for a 5-0 lead. Arcia beat out an infield hit against a shift, plating Rodriguez and boosting the lead to 6-0.

Taylor Rogers struck out four and allowed two hits through four innings pitched, then worked around a base runner in both the eighth and ninth innings to complete the win started by Pat Dean June 5. Rogers (7-4) tossed seven shutout innings and allowed three hits and two walks, striking out four. He threw 95 pitches, 59 for strikes.

Bernier, Rodriguez and Arcia each had three hits. Zeke Spruill, the original Pawtucket starter June 5, took the loss to fall to 4-3 for the season.

Game Two:

The regularly scheduled game featured a spot start by Logan Darnell of the Wings, going up against PawSox ace Brian Johnson - who struck out seven in beating the Wings in his last start June 24 in Pawtucket. Darnell set down the side in order in the first, but Johnson had anything but a smooth inning. He walked Argenis Diaz on four pitches, then threw two high balls to James Beresford. Catcher Luis Martinez quickly ran to the mound, followed by the Pawtucket trainer and field staff. Johnson (8-4) left the game, and was replaced by Dalier Hinojosa. Jose Martinez singled to send Diaz to third base, and Diaz scored on a sacrifice fly by Reynaldo Rodriguez to put the Red Wings ahead 1-0.

After a scoreless second inning, the Wings tacked on another run in the bottom of the third. With one out, Diaz lined a single up the middle. After a flyout by Beresford for the second out, Martinez launched a double to left field and Diaz scored from first base to put the Wings up 2-0.

Caleb Thielbar replaced Darnell in the top of the fifth inning. Darnell tossed four scoreless innings and allowed two hits and one walk, striking out two. After getting two quick outs in the inning, Thielbar walked the next two batters. After a throwing error from Beresford loaded the bases, Thielbar (5-3) got a hard groundball to the shortstop Diaz, who threw out the runner going to second to end the inning and get the Wings out of trouble.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Wings extended their lead to 3-0 on an RBI single by Diaz, after consecutive singles by Eric Farris and Carlos Paulino greeted new pitcher Edwin Escobar.

A.J. Achter pitched the seventh after Thielbar allowed a hit and two walks in two scoreless innings. Achter picked up his 13th save.
