Today's Game

Tonight, the Bisons face the Syracuse Chiefs in the first game of a three-game series from NBT Bank Stadium (7:05 p.m.). Buffalo is coming off a 3-2 series win over the Red Wings that was played in just three days. Buffalo is in 4th place for the IL's lone wild card spot, give games behind the Columbus Clippers.

The Bisons are 9-4 against the Chiefs this season. Buffalo is 4-3 this year at NBT Bank Stadium, having most recently split a four-game set in Syracuse, July 27-30. The Thruway rivals still have nine contests in 2015 with the Chiefs coming to Buffalo two more times this year.

Scott Copeland

RHP SCOTT COPELAND'S 1.96 ERA is almost a half-run better than any other pitcher in the International League. The righty has won four straight decisions and is coming off seven innings of shutout baseball in a victory in Gwinnett last Sunday. With a win tonight, Copeland can become the Bisons' first 10-game winner since 2010, when both Dillon Gee (13) and Pat Misch (11) reached double-digit victories.

INF MATT HAGUE drove in his 81st RBI of the season yesterday, a total that is nine more than the next closest IL hitter. The Bisons are 34-13 on the season when Hague drives in a run and 16-4 when he knocks in two or more. The veteran continues to lead the IL in average (.344), hits (155) and on-base pct. (.425).

Welcome to the Herd

OF CHRIS HEISEY was signed by the Blue Jays just hours before yesterday's doubleheader. Heisey went 1-3 in each game for Buffalo, topping off his debut with a walk-off home run in the 7th inning of game two. For Heisey, who has played 560 MLB game with the Reds and Dodgers, it was his first professional walk-off home run.

The Bisons have activated RHP BOBBY KORECKY off the disabled list as the Blue Jays today released RHP JOBA CHAMBERLAIN...OF DALTON POMPEY has scored 26 runs in his last 26 games...INF TY KELLY has reached base safely in 16 of his 18 games with the Bisons and brings a five-game hit streak into tonight's action (.412, 7-17).

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (64-52) matched a franchise record with their 11th straight win yesterday, 4-2 over Oakland. Former Bison Ryan Goins hit a three-run home run and Mark Buehrle earned his 13th win of the season. Toronto hosts the Yankees tonight with David Price on the mound (7:07 p.m.).
