Today's Game

This afternoon, the Bisons face the Syracuse Chiefs in the rubber match of a three-game series from NBT Bank Stadium (1:05 p.m.). The Bisons are 3-3 on their season-opening seven-game roadtrip that began in Pawtucket. The Bisons host the Rochester Red Wings on Thursday for the 2016 Home Opener at Coca-Cola Field (2:05 p.m.).

Last Game

The Bisons and Chiefs split a doubleheader Tuesday with Buffalo winning 2-0 in game one and Syracuse taking the night cap, 4-3. 2B Andy Burns and DH Jesus Montero drove in the runs in game one, while the team went just 1-10 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base in the game two defeat.

vs. Syracuse (1-1)

The Bisons and Chiefs will play 17 times this season, but won't meet again until a three-game set at Coca-Cola Field, May 5-8. Since 2013, the Herd has a 19-9 record at NBT Bank Stadium (.679 winning pct.).

PDC Extension

On Tuesday, the Bisons and Blue Jays announced a two-year extension of their player development contract, ensuring the Herd will remain Toronto's Triple-A affiliate through the 2018 season. Since 2013, 1.6 million fans have come to Coca-Cola Field to see the future Blue Jays stars. Buffalo has won 219 games (219-212) in three seasons with Toronto, their most for a three-year span since 2005-2007 (220). Twelve former Bisons were on the Blue Jays' 2015 ALCS roster.

Drew Hutchison

RHP Drew Hutchison is the first Bisons' starter to get his second start on the season. The righty struck out nine batters in just five innings on Friday night in Pawtucket, but ended up on the short side of a 2-0 loss. Hutchison won 13 games for the Blue Jays last season and ranked second on Toronto's staff with 129 strikeouts.

Dalton Pompey

OF Dalton Pompey returned to the Bisons lineup Tuesday and went a combined 4-6 with a stolen base last night. He scored the only two runs in the Bisons' 2-0 victory in game one. Pompey led the Bisons with 16 stolen bases a season ago.

Bisons Bits

Bisons pitchers have struck out 41 batters and allowed just 40 hits through the first six games of 2016 (43.1IP)...The Bisons placed OF Darrell Ceciliani on the disabled list yesterday, retroactive to April 11...1B Casey Kotchman has reached base in all five games he's played with a .357 (5-14) average, three walks and a .471 on-base pct...C Humberto Quintero is one of four players in the IL with three doubles on the season.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (3-5) lost 3-2 to the Yankees in the opener of a three-game series at Rogers Centre. A two-run double from RF Jose Bautista in the third inning provided the only offense for Toronto. Former Bisons RHP Aaron Sanchez allowed just one earned run on three hits in six innings but did not earn a decision. Toronto hosts New York again tonight at 7:07 p.m.
