Today's Game

Tonight, the Bisons face the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders in the first game of a four-game in three-day series at PNC Field (7:05 p.m.). The teams will play one game today and then hava a split day-night doubleheader on Sunday. Buffalo is coming off a two-game series sweep of Syracuse back at Coca-Cola Field.

vs. the RailRiders

The Bisons are 2-3 against the RailRiders this season. The road team has won all five games with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre picking up a sweep June 8-10 at Coca-Cola Field and the Herd winning two at PNC Field, June 26-28. Buffalo fell in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre each of the past two July 4ths, including last year's 7-6 RailRiders' walk-off victory.

Scott Copeland

RHP SCOTT COPELAND makes his ninth start and 10th appearance tonight. The righty allowed just three hits in seven innings last Monday in a 2-1 defeat to Gwinnett. One of the hits was a home run, the first and only he's allowed this season (191st batter faced hit homer). Opponents are hitting just .177 off Copeland at Triple-A this year.

MattVP

IL All-Star INF MATT HAGUE posted his 30th multi-hit performance in last night's win over Syracuse. His 101 hits on the year are 12 more than any other player and his .341 average is 21 points higher than the rest of the field. Hague also leads the International League in on-base pct. (.422) and is 4th in slugging pct. (.459).

Offensive Fireworks

All nine batters in the lineup last night picked up a hit while six different batters drove in runs. OF ALEX HASSAN (3-3, 2 RBI) finished a home run shy of the cycle while OF MELKY MESA also went 3-4 with a pair of RBI. The eight runs were the most by the club since an 8-6 win in Syracuse on June 19.

Bisons bits

Since the start of June, OF CALEB GINDL has averaged .294 (25-85) with two doubles, four home runs and 12 RBI in 23 games...RHP CHAD JENKINS has allowed just one run in his last 13 outings (two starts) and 26.0 innings of work since May 25 (0.35 ERA)...The Bisons are a league-best 29-5 when scoring first in games (.853 pct.)...Opponents have scored on the Bisons in just 12 of the last 76 innings (8 games).

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (42-40) lost to the Tigers in Detroit on Friday, 8-6. Toronto was being no-hit until the eighth inning and still brought the tying run to the plate. Dioner Navarro drove in three runs for the Blue Jays. Toronto takes on Detroit again this afternoon at 1:08 p.m.
