Today's Game
This afternoon, the Bisons take on the Gwinnett Braves in the third game of a three-game series at Coolray Field (2:05 p.m.). The Herd needs a win today to avoid a sweep at the hands of the G-Braves. Tomorrow, the Bisons return home to host the Red Wings in a five-game in four-day series at Coca-Cola Field.

The Bisons are 0-5 this year against the Braves and are winless in their last 11 contests against Gwinnett dating back to 2014. Buffalo has never gone winless in a year against an opponent in the modern era.
Scott Copeland
RHP SCOTT COPELAND'S 2.11 ERA is just two innings shy of qualifying as the best mark in the International League. Copeland has allowed one earned run or fewer in four straight starts, including a five-inning no-decision last Tuesday in Charlotte. Since the All-Star break, the righty is 3-0 with a 1.14 ERA.

INF MATT HAGUE'S 150 hits are 28 more than any other hitter in the IL. He's the 9th Bisons player in the modern era to reach the 150-hit plateau in a season. Hague is on pace for 190 hits this season, which would be nine more than Jhonny Peralta's 2004 record of 181. Hague has three straight multi-hit performances and 49 on the season.
Dalton Pompey
OF DALTON POMPEY has been one of the IL's best hitter since his return to the Herd. Since his July 17 promotion from Double-A, Pompey's .481 on-base pct. is 28 points higher than any other IL hitter. He also ranks 1st in runs scored (22), 2nd in average (.379) and 5th in OPS (.987) during the 21-game span.
Good Eyes
In five games this roadtrip, Bisons batters have drawn more walks (27) than they have struck out (25). Buffalo's 416 walks on the season are the most in the IL while their 711 strikeouts are the 4th-fewest.
Bisons Bits
OF ALEX HASSAN has eight multi-hit outings in his last 10 games...The Bisons have held a lead in five of their last six losses. The Herd's seven losses when leading after eight are two more than the next closest team in the IL...Buffalo has the IL's best winning pct. when scoring first (43-10, .811), but the circuit's worst record in 1-run games (17-28, .378).
Blue Jays Update
The Blue Jays (60-52) shutout the Yankees, 6-0, on Saturday for their seventh straight win. Toronto has now closed to within 3.5 games of New York in the AL East. Justin Smoak hit a grand slam and Troy Tulowitzki also went deep. Toronto looks for the sweep in the Bronx today at 1:05 p.m.
