Pawtucket, RI (August 9, 2015) - The Syracuse Chiefs beat the Pawtucket Red Sox, 3-1, Sunday afternoon at McCoy Stadium. The win was the Chiefs' seventh in a row over the PawSox this week, and 10th in a row over the PawSox overall since July 4th. A.J. Cole twirled another brilliant start by a Chiefs starter, allowing just a run on three hits in seven innings of work.

Pawtucket (44-71) took a lead after a full inning for the first time in the seven-game series. In the bottom of the third, Jonathan Roof hit his first home run as a PawSox to start the inning to give Pawtucket a 1-0 lead.

Syracuse (50-67) made the lead short-lived with an immediate answer in the top of the fourth. Matt Skole doubled with one out off Zeke Spruill, Skole's eighth extra-base hit in 15 games with the Chiefs. Skole scored a batter later on Caleb Ramsey's second single of the game to tie the score at one.

The Chiefs grabbed the lead for good in the fifth. Trea Turner reached on a fielder's choice and with two outs, stole second base. A pitch later, Matt den Dekker doubled Turner home to give the Chiefs the lead.

Syracuse capped the scoring in the sixth inning. Mario Lisson singled with two outs. Steve Lerud followed with an RBI double down the right-field line to extend the lead to 3-1.

Syracuse retired 20 of the final 21 PawSox batters to clinch the win. The Chiefs seven-game win streak is their longest since winning eight straight from June 17-24, 2014. Syracuse will return to the field after an off day Monday when it opens a home stand Tuesday night against Lehigh Valley. Taylor Jordan is scheduled to start for the Chiefs opposite Sean O'Sullivan for the IronPigs. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
