Bulls Shut out Bats, 9-0

DURHAM, NC - The Louisville Bats (58-59) got shut out by the Durham Bulls (56-59), 9-0 in the final game of the series. The Bats had one hit from Kristopher Negron who singled in the sixth inning.

The Bulls scored three runs in each the first, third, and fourth inning for a large 9-0 deficit over the Bats. Left-hander Blake Snell (W, 2-2, 1.42) shut out the Bats allowing no hits through five innings, walking just two and striking out nine. Relieving him in the sixth was Everett Teaford who allowed the only hit for the Bats.

Lefty Brandon Finnegan (L, 0-1, 9.00) went three and two thirds of an inning giving up six hits, seven earned runs, walking two and striking out five. He gave up a three-run homer to Mikie Mahtook in the bottom of the third that gave Durham a 6-0 lead.

The Bats have an off day tomorrow and will return to Louisville Slugger Field to face the Columbus Clippers on Tuesday. Starting for the Bats will be right-hander Donn Roach (2-1, 4.68) and for the Clippers will be right-hander Josh Tomlin (1-2, 4.22).
