Today's Game

This evening, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Pawtucket Red Sox in the second game of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field. Following their tilt with the PawSox, the Herd will head up the 90 to Syracuse to face the Chiefs June 29-30 and July 1. It will represent the first trip to Syracuse for the Bisons in the 2018 season.

Last Night's Game: BUF 2, LHV 3

RHP Nick Tepesch went 6.0 IP in his third start of the season earning his first quality start. The righty gave up 3 hits, struck out 5 and walked 2. The Bisons' took the lead in the fifth after OF Roemon Fields laced a triple down the right field line, scoring two. The Herd fell short after Pawtucket 1B Adam Lind hit a two-run HR in the eighth.

Pawtucket (5-8)

The Bisons and PawSox last played each other June 19-21 where Pawtucket took three of the four games. Buffalo looks for redemption as they now play host to their division rival. In 12 games against the Sox, C Danny Jansen is 19-41 (.463) with eight extra-base hits and a .560 on-base percentage. The two teams will close out their season series in Buffalo August 24-27.

Today's Starter: RHP Sean Reid-Foley

RHP Sean Reid-Foley is making his seventh start of the season for the Bisons. In his last start, Reid-Foley pitched 5.0 IP, 7H, 4R/4ER, 4BB, 7K. The righty is 2-1 in June with a 2.95 ERA. Reid-Foley has struck out at least seven in four of his six starts this season, with a season-high of 10 vCOL.

Roemon Fields

OF Roemon Fields went 2-2 with a two-run triple in yesterday's loss to Pawtucket. Fields showed off his glove, making a spectacular catch against the wall to take away an extra-base hit as well. The speedy outfielder is starting to heat up, batting an even .300 in his last five games.

Dwight Smith Jr.

OF Dwight Smith Jr had two of the Bisons' six hits in last night's contest. Smith Jr hits particularly well at home, logging a .308 batting average when at Coca-Cola Field. The outfielder is tied for the team lead in walks with C Danny Jansen (29).

Bisons' Bits

RHP Sean Reid-Foley has thrown 21.1IP in four starts in June (2.91ERA)...Two of the three complete games thrown by Buffalo starters have come in June (Reid-Foley and Borucki)...The team's 69 stolen bases is good for first in the IL. The Bisons' have outscored opponents by 14 in the sixth inning this season (39-25)...The Herd's biggest inning this season has been the third, with the team scoring 49 of their 300 runs in that frame.

Jake Petricka

RHP Jake Petricka lowered his ERA to 0.95 with a scoreless inning last night. Right-handed hitters are batting only .175 against Petricka this season. Petricka is currently riding an eight-inning scoreless streak, spanning five games dating back to 6/12.

Blue Jays Update

Toronto (37-41) won the opener of their three game series against the Houston Astros. LHP J.A. Happ earned his tenth win of the season, 6.0IP, 7H, 3R/3ER, 2BB, 4K. OF Teoscar Hernandez was a big contributor, going 3-5 with a double. The Blue Jays face Houston's RHP Charlie Morton tonight (8:10 p.m). After the series versus the Astros, the Blue Jays will return home for a nine-game home stand beginning June 29 against the Detroit Tigers.
