Durham Bulls News Release

DURHAM, NC - Behind three hits and a career-high five RBI from Brandon Lowe, the Durham Bulls defeated the Charlotte Knights 6-4 Tuesday night at the DBAP.

The left-handed hitting second baseman drove in five of the Bulls' six runs and hit his sixth homer in his last six games. He fell a triple short of the cycle on a night where the home team tallied six runs on eight hits.

Forrest Snow (W, 5-4) worked into the fifth inning without relenting a run until the visitors cut the lead to 5-4 with four runs on five hits including a two-run home run by Jose Rondon.

Mike Franco worked in out of the 'pen and silenced the Knights' bats, stranding the bases loaded in the sixth inducing a fly out of Jake Elmore keeping the home team in front 5-4.

In the sixth, Kean Wong walked for the third time on the night, and Lowe drove an RBI double off the Blue Monster to extend the Bulls' lead to 6-4.

Franco and Adam Kolarek (S, 2) combined to hold the Knights scoreless over 3.2 innings, surrendering one hit combined with seven strikeouts to preserve a Bull City victory. Kolarek earned his second save of the season, and first since April 30.

The Bulls (42-33) host the Knights (34-42) for a doubleheader beginning at 1:05 p.m. on Wednesday. Andrew Moore (2-2, 2.89) is scheduled to start game one, with the second end of the twin bill scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m. at the DBAP.
