Birmingham Drops First Contest of Three-Game Road Trip, 124-120

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham Squadron, NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, fell to the Austin Spurs, 124-120, at H-E-B Center on Friday night.

Birmingham (4-3) two-way guard Dereon Seabron led all players in scoring with 35 points, his second game scoring at least 35 and two shy of a career high. The NC State product dished out eight assists as well.

Guard Jalen Crutcher scored 23 on the night, while Landers Nolley II notched a 21-point game. Rookie center Trey Jemison hauled in 11 boards, marking his fourth double-digit rebounding game of the season.

Austin (3-4) had two 22-point scorers in Javante McCoy and Kaleb Johnson. Justin Kier led the way in the rebounding category with 10 for the Spurs.

Birmingham now heads to Oklahoma City to take on the Blue with tip-off set for 2 p.m. on Sunday and noon on Tuesday. Both games can be watched locally on My68 WABM. Sunday's game will be national on NBAGLeague.com and Tuesdays on ESPN+.
