Salt Lake Bees News Release

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake Bees and Smith's Food & Drug have partnered together to collect new or gently-used baseball equipment.

Fans will have the opportunity to assist the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake by donating baseball gloves, balls, bats, helmets, cleats, as well as other sporting equipment at three upcoming Bees games. Collection dates are scheduled for June 20 vs. the Las Vegas 51s, July 25 vs. the Tacoma Rainiers and Aug. 15 vs. the Round Rock Express.

"We are proud to partner with Smith's Food & Drug on this program," said Bees General Manager Marc Amicone. "This is a great opportunity for our fans to give back to the community. We know the Boys & Girls Clubs will benefit from this equipment donation and get their youth excited about baseball."

Bins will be set up on the main concourse for fans to drop off baseball gear before enjoying the game. Fans who donate to the drive will receive a coupon for free cookie or apple at any Smith's location.

The Bees have an eight-game homestand on June 13-20. Tickets can be purchased at Smith's Ballpark box office, at all Smith'sTix outlets and Smith's Food & Drug Stores, by phone at 801-325-BEES (2337) or online at www.slbees.com, with no additional fees.
