Round Rock, TX - It took four hours and 17 minutes but the Zephyrs plate a pair of runs in the top of the fourteenth inning and held on to beat Round Rock 8-6.

New Orleans took advantage of a pair of walks in the fourteenth inning and an error to score a pair of runs and Cody Ege pitched three innings of relief for the win.

Xavier Scruggs lead the Zephyrs with a pair of home runs in the game. Matt Juengel also hit a home run for New Orleans. The Z's grabbed the lead in the 13th inning with an RBI single from Kenny Wilson but the Express answered in the bottom of the inning. Round Rock loaded the bases and Trever Adams was hit by a pitch.

The Zephyrs out-hit the Express 15-8 but struggled with situational hitting. The Z's had two hits in fifteen at bats with runners in scoring position.

GAME NOTES

The Zephyrs have won 11 of their last 13 games.

The Zephyrs improve to 4-2 in extra innings.

The game was the longest of the season. The Zephyrs played three games of 14 or more innings last season.

ON DECK

The Zephyrs continue the four game road-trip Thursday in Round Rock. The Z's will start RHP Dylan Axelrod (4-2, 3.83) against RHP Michael Roth (5-2, 3.22) The game will be broadcast on WODT Fox Sports 1280 AM and streamed at iHeart Radio App.

The Zephyrs return home on Friday to host Oklahoma City in a four game set.
