Red-Hot Zephyrs Host Dodgers for 4 Games
June 16, 2016 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release
Metairie, LA - The Zephyrs return home to host the Oklahoma City Dodgers in a four-game series starting Friday at 7 p.m.
The Zephyrs have opened June with 11 wins in 14 games for only the fourth time in franchise history, and superb starting pitching has been the key to the team's surge. Z's starters have posted a 1.63 ERA over their last 19 games, and the team's 1.94 ERA overall this month is tied for the best mark among all Minor League Baseball clubs.
The pitching probables for the series:
Friday 7 PM: RHP Jose Urena (1-1, 5.09) vs. RHP Nick Tepesch (6-2, 3.92)
Saturday 6 PM: LHP Chris Narveson (2-2, 3.44) vs. RHP Jose De Leon (0-0, 2.45)
Sunday 1 PM: LHP Chris Reed (1-2, 2.41) vs. RHP Brock Stewart (1-0, 4.76)
Monday 11 AM: LHP Paul Clemens (6-4, 4.30) vs. RHP Jharel Cotton (6-3, 4.78)
One of the most popular promotions of the summer, Star Wars Night presented by Laser Tag of Metairie, kicks off the weekend on Friday. The first 1,000 fans will receive a "light-up sword" and costumed Stormtroopers from the 501st Legion and rebel fighters from Dagobah Base will be on-hand to pose for pictures. Stick around after the game for a Star Wars-themed fireworks show.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles appear at Zephyr Field during Saturday night's game, and on Sunday at 1 p.m., the Zephyrs host their first Father's Day game in 10 years. A special ticket package gives fans the chance to play catch on the field with their dads before the game with hot dogs, hamburgers and sodas provided. The first 1,000 fans will receive a Zephyrs magnet frame compliments of Supercuts, and after fans run the bases postgame, 1,000 Pro State keychains will be given away in honor of prostate cancer awareness.
The series concludes with a Monday matinee starting at 11 a.m.
