Burlington Bees News Release

Beloit, WI (August 5, 2010) - In his second start since being acquired from the Dodgers for Scott Podsednik, Elisaul Pimentel held the Beloit Snappers to two runs over six innings of a 5-0 loss at Pohlman Field on Thursday night.

Pimentel (L, 9-4) held the Snappers to six hits and two walks in his time on the hill with three strikeouts. The runs came home in the second and sixth, one on a Derek McCallum RBI single and the other on Michael Gonzales's solo home run in the sixth. Gonzales has now homered in each of the three games in the series.

Beloit put the nail in the Bees' coffin in the seventh inning, however, with three runs against new Bee Brian Anderson. The converted outfielder was charged with three runs after allowing a pair of hits and a walk in his Midwest League debut.

The bullpen struggles came a half inning after Bees manager Jim Gabella was ejected from the contest. Deivy Batista was picked off of first base by Snappers reliever Nelvin Fuentes, and Gabella got into a heated discussion with home plate umpire Rod Davis over whether Fuentes had begun to come to the plate.

Carlo Testa led the Bees with two hits. Ben Theriot reached base twice with a pair of walks.

The two teams close out the series on Friday night at Pohlman Field. Tune into News Radio 1490 KBUR and GoBees.com for the Casebine Community Credit Union Pregame Show at 6:40.
