Beast Erupt for Three in the Third and Topple Royals for Fifth Straight Win

BRAMPTON, ONTARIO - Alex Foster netted a pair of goals and the Beast scored three straight in the third period to complete the comeback and defeat the Reading Royals by a score of 5-4 at the Powerade Centre on Sunday afternoon.
The Brampton Beast and Reading Royals met for the second game of their two-part weekend series. It was Marvel Day and both teams were decked out in special jerseys, with Brampton wearing the armour of Iron Man and Reading sporting the green of the Hulk.
Reading opened the scoring right off the hop with a goal from Alex Krushelnyski. He converted a pass and tipped it off his stick past Beast starter Marcus Hogberg at 1:09.
Reading didn't wait long to extend their lead and Krushelnyski buried his second of the game on a breakaway at 7:30. That gave Reading a 2-0 lead in the first frame.
Brampton was undeterred and got themselves on the board with a beautiful move by Stefan Fournier. The big forward bullied his way to the front of the net and flipped a hard backhand by Mark Dekanich at 15:35.
The Beast continued to press the attack and Brandon Marino whipped a hard shot at Dekanich that came out into the slot. Alex Foster was waiting for the loose puck on the doorstep and he made no mistake and tied the game at 16:31.
Both teams would head to the intermission with the score even at two apiece. Shots were also knotted up at ten.
Reading would once again get off to a hot start in the second and would score a goal 26 seconds into the period. Steven Swavely would receive the credit after stuffing it home.
The period continued with both teams trading great chances. Reading would be the next team to strike and Michael Huntebrinker would give his club a two-goal lead at 17:24 of the second period.
The second would come to an end with the shots in favour of the Beast 22-19.
Brampton knew they needed a spark to ignite the offense in the third. They quickly found it with when Chris Leveille broke in with speed and sauced a gorgeous pass right onto the stick of Foster. The veteran made no mistake and tipped his second of the game past Dekanich at 3:32.
The Royals found themselves in penalty trouble shortly thereafter and Brampton made them pay as Reggie Traccitto launched a bullet of a one-timer into the net off a perfect setup from Jordan Henry. That goal tied the game four apiece at 7:02 of the third.
With the momentum thoroughly on the side of Brampton, Matt Petgrave rushed down the sideboards and found the trailing Henry in the slot. The big defenseman picked his spot perfectly and gave Brampton their first lead of the game at 13:05 of the third. The Beast would hang on from there and secure their fifth consecutive victory.

Marcus Hogberg has now won back-to-back games for the first time in his ECHL career. The Beast went one-for-six on the man advantage and five-for-five on the penalty kill. Chris Leveille was awarded a penalty shot at the 1:24 mark of the second period. His attempt was stopped by Dekanich. Brampton's next game is a School Day contest taking place Thursday, November 23rd at 11 AM against the Kalamazoo Wings.
