Greenville's Herbert Named Sher-Wood Hockey=2FECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Caleb Herbert of the Greenville Swamp Rabbits is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Nov. 13-19.

Herbert scored five goals and assisted on four others for nine points in four games last week.

The 26-year-old recorded three points (2g-1a) in a 6-3 win over Atlanta on Wednesday, added an assist in a 4-1 victory against Orlando on Friday, posted another three-point game (2g-1a) in a 4-3 overtime loss at South Carolina on Saturday and picked up a goal and an assist in a 7-6 loss to Orlando on Sunday.

A native of Bloomington, Minn., Herbert has tallied at least one point in each of the Swamp Rabbits' 15 games this season and is tied for the ECHL lead with 25 points (10g-15a).

Selected by the Washington Capitals in the fifth round (142nd overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Herbert has notched 75 points (43g-32a) in 85 career ECHL games with Greenville, Idaho and South Carolina while adding 20 points (10g-10a) in 80 career American Hockey League games with Texas and Hershey.

Prior to turning pro, Herbert posted 89 points (32g-57a) in 112 career games at the University of Minnesota-Duluth.

On behalf of Caleb Herbert, a case of pucks will be donated to a Greenville youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 37,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
