
Beast Drop Chippy Contest against Railers

BRAMPTON, ONTARIO - Brampton fell into a 3-0 hole early in the first and fell by a score of 7-3 on Saturday night against the Worcester Railers.
The Brampton Beast took on the Worcester Railers for the second time in two days at the CAA Centre. The Beast skated away with a 2-0 win in yesterday's contest on the back of the third shutout of the season from Alex Dubeau.
The Railers would draw first blood on Saturday with a goal from Yanick Turcotte less than a minute into the period.
The Railers kept the pressure on and were also granted goals from Nic Pierog and Shane Walsh to take an early 3-0 lead over the Beast.
Brampton fought back and took advantage on the power play with a goal from David Pacan. The forward ripped across the line and sent a backhand past Railers netminder Evan Buitenhuis to get Brampton on the board at 9:09.
Brampton continued to pour on the pressure was rewarded with another goal, this time from Cam Bakker.
The defenseman fired a loose puck from the high slot to pull the Beast within one at 11:42.
Brampton found themselves down 3-2 after the first 20 minutes of play and would trial in shots by a count of 17-12.
The Railers would get some insurance in the second frame off another goal from the aforementioned Walsh.
After 40 minutes of play Brampton was down 4-2 but would lead on the shot clock to the count of 30-25.
The third period would see Walsh complete the hat trick a minute into the period to give the Railers 5-3 lead right off the hop.
The rest of the period got a bit chippy, as both Yanick Turcotte and Lindsay Sparks were ejected for separate incidents in the final frame.
Despite a late goal on the power play from Erik Bradford, the Railers would add another pair from Drew Callin and Barry Almeida to finalize the win for Worcester on Saturday night.
Evan Fitzpatrick would be charged with the loss and would finish with 28 saves. Evan Buitenhuis would grab the win with 33 saves of his own.
Notes: Molson Three Stars 3) Pacan (BRA) 2) Buitenhuis (WOR) 1) Walsh (WOR) Brampton finished the contest two-for-four on the man advantage. Worcester went one-for-three over the contest. The Beast will be back in action on December 27th when they take on the Fort Wayne Komets on the road.
