(Bowie, MD) - The Baysox headed into tonight's game with Akron having lost two straight and their last three vs. Akron. Despite that the Baysox had a chance to pull to .500 with two wins in tonight's double header. The Baysox would struggle early though in the first game of the twin bill, with starter Rosman Garcia giving up a three-run homer to Michael Aubrey in the first inning, giving Akron a 3-0 lead.

Oscar Salazar would cut the deficit to 3-1, when he connected for his 14th homer of the season, a solo shot, putting the Baysox to within two.

That is about as close as the Baysox would get though as the Aeros would extend their lead, with three more runs in the sixth, highlighted by a Ryan Goleski 2-run homer, putting Akron up, 5-1. Top prospect Trevor Crowe followed that up with an RBI single, scoring David Wallace, making it 6-1 Akron.

Danys Baez, who made his first appearance for the Baysox on a rehab assignment from Baltimore, entered the game relieving Garcia. Baez then surrendered a solo home run to Jordan Brown, the first batter he faced, giving Akron a 7-1 lead. The homer would be Baez's only blemish in the frame as the seven year Major League vet got Brian Barton to fly out and dusted Michael Aubrey and Ryan Goleski with strikeouts in order to end the inning.

David Haehnel came into spell Baez from the game in the fifth inning and finished out the game, giving up only one hit and one run, while walking three.

The Baysox only strung together four hits in game one as they dropped their third straight game, 7-1.

Garcia picked up the loss and dropped to (1-4) on the season, going 3.0 innings, giving up seven hits and six runs. Chuck Lofgren picked up the win and improved to (8-5) on the year.

Game two was a bit more even with the pitching taking center stage. Radhames Liz had only one blemish on his pitching line, giving up a solo homer to Chris Gimenez, putting Akron ahead, 1-0. The Baysox would knot the game up in the second, when Jeff Fiorentino connected for his fifth home run of the season, a solo shot, tying the game at 1-1.

The Baysox would put up two runs in the bottom of the third to take a 3-1 lead. 1B Luis Jimenez slapped an RBI single, scoring Ruddy Yan for the 2-1 lead. Val Majewski plated the Baysox third run, coming across to score on a Joe Ness wild pitch past catcher Chris Gimenez to make it 3-1 Baysox.

Val Majewski would help pad the Baysox lead, slapping an RBI single to center, scoring Paco Figueroa, putting the Baysox ahead, 4-1.

Fiorentino hit his second home run of the night in the bottom of the fifth, his sixth of the season, putting the Baysox ahead, 5-1. It was Fiorentino's first two-homer game of the season, capping the Baysox win, 5-1.

Radhames Liz picked up the win to move to (6-4) on the season, giving up only five hits over six inning and the lone home run in the second inning. Nick McCurdy spelled Liz from the game taking over in the seventh and recorded one strikeout, giving up only two hits. Brian Barton grounded out to first base to end the ballgame.
