ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION... The SeaWolves have lost four of their last five games and look to rebound from last night's 5-4 loss as they take the field in game two of a three game series against the Reading Phillies (Philadelphia Phillies). The R-Phils evened the season series with last night's win and they also snapped Erie's four-game road winning streak. The SeaWolves squandered scoring opportunities in the fourth (1st and 3rd, one out), sixth (1st and 2nd, one out) seventh (1st with no outs) and ninth (1st, no outs) innings last night...Wednesday's loss, coupled with an Akron win, puts the 'Wolves at 5.5 games behind the first place Aeros in the Southern Division. The Altoona Curve lost as well on Wednesday so the 'Wolves remain 3.5 games up on the third place team in the division...RHP Andrew Kown takes the mound tonight for Erie and is coming off of back-to-back no-decisions against Trenton and Akron. Kown's only win as a starter came on June 13 in Portland and he is 0-1 against the Phillies following a loss back on May 2 at Jerry Uht Park in his first start of the season...LHP Matt Maloney makes the start for Reading and has won his last three decisions, including a complete game win on June 20 against Binghamton. Maloney is the sixth leftie the SeaWolves will face in their last eight games. The 'Wolves are 3-2 in their last six games vs. a left handed starting pitcher. Maloney went seven innings allowing five runs on eight hits in his last start against New Britain. It is his first start of the season against the SeaWolves.
