May 5, 2010 - Eastern League (EL1)
Harrisburg Senators News Release
The Harrisburg Senators dropped their sixth straight game on Wednesday night, falling 7-1 at the hands of the visiting Bowie Baysox. The game was played in front of 2215 fans at Metro Bank Park.
Bowie (15-12) cranked out fourteen hits a day after collecting sixteen in its 9-0 win on Tuesday. Caleb Joseph and Ryan Adams led the way, as Joseph notched three hits and three RBI, while Adams recorded four hits and scored three times. Joseph hit a two-run home run, the only homer of the game.
The only Senators run came in the fourth inning, when Jesus Valdez drove in Leonard Davis with a double. Valdez also tripled later in the game, and was the only Senator with a multi-hit performance. Davis, Danny Espinosa, and Jhonatan Solano registered a hit apiece for the 10-16 Senators.
Steve Johnson (1-2) threw his longest outing of the year for the Baysox, working seven innings and allowing just one run in the win. Aaron Thompson (1-3) pitched four and two-thirds innings, and took the loss for the Senators. Yunior Novoa and Rafael Martin combined to throw the final four and a third, and gave up just a single hit and no runs.
The Senators will have a chance to salvage a win in the series at Thursday night at 7 PM, when the teams match up for the fourth straight day at Metro Bank Park. Tom Milone (1-1, 4.44) is scheduled to pitch for the Sens, against Chorye Spoon (1-3, 5.48) of the Baysox. The radio broadcast of the game begins at 6:45, on 1460 AM The Ticket and www.senatorsbaseball.com.
