Catcher Danny Lehmann Goes On Disabled List

May 5, 2010 - Eastern League (EL1)
New Britain Rock Cats News Release

New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats of the Eastern League announced last night that their primary Catcher - 24-year-old Danny Lehmann - has been placed on the Disabled List with a left shoulder strain. The Rice University product - who has now played in portions of three seasons (2008, 2009, 2010) in New Britain - injured his non-throwing shoulder last Sunday afternoon in Portland, ME when he was involved in a collision at home plate. The 5'11"/185-pound resident of The Woodlands, TX has appeared in 16 games for the 2010 Rock Cats and goes to the DL with a .229 BA.

New Britain will likely play one player short of the League's 24-man roster limit until this weekend, when the team returns from its current road trip. In the meantime, the highly versatile Toby Gardenhire - an Infielder by trade - will fill in as the team's emergency Catcher.
