Young Catcher Will Join Rock Cats Tomorrow

May 5, 2010 - Eastern League (EL1)
New Britain Rock Cats News Release

New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats of the Eastern League announced today that they will be receiving a Catcher - 21-year-old Danny Rams - from Beloit in the Single-A, Midwest League tomorrow afternoon. The Miami, FL resident - a 2nd Round selection of the Minnesota Twins in the 2007 Draft - will join the Rock Cats in time for the team's 6:35 PM game tomorrow evening in Manchester, NH.

Rams will replace New Britain's primary Catcher - 24-year-old Danny Lehmann - who was placed on the club's Disabled List yesterday with a strained left shoulder.

The 6'2"/231-pound Rams was drafted out of Gulliver Preparatory High School (FL) and is currently in his fourth year of professional ball. A right-handed hitter, Rams - a non-roster invitee to Minnesota's 2010 Major League Spring Training camp - owned a .252 career MiLB batting average with 39 Doubles and 18 HRs prior to the start of the 2010 Season. Before this initial call to the Double-A classification, the 2006 High School All-American appeared in 19 games for the 2010 Beloit Snappers, posting a .211 BA with 9 Doubles.

He will be in uniform tomorrow night when the Rock Cats play at New Hampshire in the final game of their current seven-game road trip.
