Hoover, AL - Patrick Corbin scattered three hits with eight strikeouts and tossed a complete-game shutout as the Mobile BayBears (9-4, 47-36) blanked the Birmingham Barons (7-7, 47-36), 2-0, in front of 2,147 fans Wednesday night at Regions Park. The game was delayed 11 minutes prior to first pitch due to a spot rain shower.

The only runs of the game were scored in the seventh inning when Paul Goldschmidt singled to right field and scored on a Marc Krauss's single to right field as Krauss advanced to second on the throw to the plate. Taylor Harbin added a RBI single up the middle that drove in Krauss for the second run of the inning, 2-0.

Corbin (7-5) registered the complete-game victory after he scattered 3 hits, 2 walks and 8 strikeouts in 9.0 IP.

Barons starter Terry Doyle (3-3) suffered the hard-luck defeat as the right-hander tossed 9.0 IP with two earned runs on seven hits and six strikeouts. In back-to-back starts at Regions Park for Doyle, he has allowed two earned runs in 18.0 IP.

The Barons and BayBears complete their four-game series Thursday night with first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. at Regions Park. Birmingham sends southpaw Justin Edwards (3-1, 3.86) to the bump while Mobile answers with right-hander Jarrod Parker (6-6, 4.69).
