JACKSON GENERALS RECAP: - Tyler Pastornicky of the Mississippi Braves smacked a triple in the eighth inning, recording a cycle in the Braves 14-7 win over the Jackson Generals Tuesday night at Trustmark Park. The hit came off of Generals position player Scott Savastano, but none the less was the first in M-Braves history. The nine inning game was 4 hours and 1 minute, which was the second longest game in the Jackson clubs history, and longest nine inning game in M-Braves history. The Braves 14 runs and 18 hits Tuesday was the most allowed in a game this season by the Generals. The win was the third straight for the Braves, their first three-game winning streak this season. The two teams combined for six errors (four by Jackson), 20 strikeouts, 15 walks, 21 runs, 30 hits and used 12 total pitchers on the night. The Braves have won the first two in the series and lead the season series 10-7. The Generals had 12 hits Tuesday night, and were led by Vinnie Catricala, who finished 4-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI's. In six games with Jackson, Vinnie has a .458 batting average with two homers, three doubles and 10 RBI's. Johermyn Chavez was 2-for-4, the only other General with multiple hits. The Generals stranded a season high 16 runners on base, taking advantage of nine walks by Braves pitching.

AT A GLANCE: Rich Poythress has a 4-game hitting streak and is batting .380 (19x50) with 4 runs scored, 3 doubles, 1 triple and 6 RBI. Since joining the Generals on June 30th, Vincent Catricala is batting .458 (11x24) with 3 runs scored, 3 doubles, 1 triple, 2 home runs and 10 RBI.

TODAY'S STARTER: RHP Andrew Carraway will make his 11th start of the season tonight and 18th appearance. Carraway, a 2011 Southern League All-Star earned the win pitching 6.2 innings, giving up one run and striking out five. He has the 4th best ERA in the league at 2.90.

ALUMNI REPORT: Kyle Seager has recorded 9 multi-hit games during his current 12-game hit streak. Since being

promoted to Tacoma on June 23rd from the Generals, Seager is batting .455 (25x55) with 16 runs scored, 4 doubles, 1 triple, 2 homeruns and 12 RBI.

PANKOVITS WINS 750: In the team's second try, Generals Manager Jim Pankovits earned his 750th career managerial victory Sunday. This is Jim's first season with the Mariners and Generals and 13th season as a Minor League skipper. Pankovits managed the New York Penn League Affiliate for the Houston Astros, Tri City the previous two seasons, winning the title in 2010.

BURNIN THE ROAD: The Generals are making their 3rd trip this season to Trustmark Park. The Generals are 5-5 on the road against the Braves and 7-8 overall against the Double-A Affiliate for Atlanta. Jackson plays Mississippi a total of 24 times this season.

TODAY IN BASEBALL HISTORY: 1933 - The first major-league All-Star Game is played at Comiskey Park, and Babe Ruth is the star. His two-run home run is the margin of victory in the American League's 4-2 win. John McGraw comes out of retirement to manage the National League.
