LHP Mauricio Robles Added to Generals Roster

PEARL, MISS. (JULY 6, 2011 - The Jackson Generals have made the following roster moves prior to tonight's 7:05 pm game against the Mississippi Braves at Trustmark Park. LHP Mauricio Robles has been activated from Advanced Class-A High Desert. Robles will wear jersey #48.

ROBLES, 22 was activated from the 60-day disabled list on June 13 and optioned to High Desert. Robles had surgery on March 22, in Seattle, to remove loose bodies from his left elbow. The arthroscopic surgery was performed by Mariners Medical Director Dr. Edward Khalfayan. With High Desert, Robles was 0-2, with a 12.41 ERA in 4 starts (12.1IP/17ER). Robles struck out 9 and walked 11 in those starts. Robles joins Generals' Tom Wilhelmsen and Johermyn Chavez who are on the Mariners 40-man roster. During Major League Spring Training Robles made one appearance in an "A" game (March 8 at San Fran) and was optioned to AAA Tacoma on March 12.

Robles split the 2010 season between the Diamond Jaxx and Triple-A Tacoma. He was 6-6, with a 4.11 in 22 starts with the Diamond Jaxx and 3-1, with a 3.54 in 5 starts with the Rainiers.

The Generals roster stands at 24 active players, 13 pitchers, 1 catcher, 5 infielders and 5 outfielders and 5 disabled players.
