Generals Take Game Three of the Series 4-2

PEARL, MS-The Jackson Generals used a three-run sixth inning to defeat the M-Braves 4-2 in game three of this four-game series at Trustmark Park.

Jackson (5-9, 43-41) put four runs up on eight hits and two errors while the Braves (7-7, 32-52) plated two runs on three hits and no errors.

Stephen Penney (4-2) worked one and 2/3 innings to pick up the win. He did not give up a hit while walking one and fanning a batter. Steve Delabar came on to work the ninth and notch his eighth save of the season.

M-Braves starter Arodys Vizcaino (2-3) gave up four earned runs on five hits and two walks while fanning seven in five and 1/3 innings of work.

Generals starting pitcher Andrew Carraway was ejected in the bottom of the second inning after hitting Ernesto Mejia with a pitch.

The M-Braves took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second when Cory Harrilchak launched his sixth home run of the season, a two-run shot into the Farm Bureau Grill.

Jackson made it a one-run game in the fifth. Carlos Triunfel singled, moved over to second a ground out, and scored on a Brandon Haveman single.

Scott Savastano led off the sixth with a double and Johermyn Chavez walked. Rich Poythress followed with a RBI single to tie the game at 2-2. Joseph Dunigan then drove in the go-ahead run with a single to center field. Triunfel then singled to load the bases. Brandon Bantz delivered a sac fly to score Pothress and extend the Generals lead to 4-2.

In the series finale, lefty Brett Oberholtzer (4-9, 4.18) takes the hill where he'll counter Generals' right-hander Erasmo Ramirez (6-5, 4.66). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM. Gates open at 6:00 PM.
