West Valley City, Utah - The Idaho Steelheads defeated the Utah Grizzlies (14-6-1-0) 3-2 in overtime Saturday night at the E-Center. The contest was a matchup of the top two ECHL teams in terms of winning percentage entering the game.

$14,300 was raised for the Angel's Hands Foundation in a post-game jersey auction of the Grizzlies game-worn specialty jerseys.

After Utah killed a two-minute power-play in overtime allowing zero shots, the Steelheads still held the puck in and scored the game-winning goal five seconds after the Grizzlies returned to even four-on-four play at 3:17 of the overtime.

"I don't think we got the bounces we deserved tonight," said Grizzlies Head Coach Kevin Colley. "I think we deserved a little bit better fate, but that's the way it is, you can put forth the effort but you're not going to win every one of those games, but there's a lot of positives out of tonight."

Trailing 2-1 entering the third, AJ Perry, dove down to the ice for a lose puck and centered Ryan Kinsewich for his league-leading 17th goal of the year 3:26 into the third.

Utah took a 1-0 lead on a power-play goal 9:13 into the first period on Shea Guthrie's third goal in the last two games. New Calgary assignee Hugo Carpentier and Brett Parnham picked up assists on the play.

The Steelheads battled back with two goals in 6:23 in the second-half of the second period to lead 2-1 at the second intermission.

Utah is next in action Friday and Saturday in Bakersfield. Face-off both nights is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.

The Grizzlies return home Friday and Saturday, December 18 and 19 when they will host Bakersfield at the E-Center.
