Battalion Top Trout 6-3 on New Year's Eve

North Bay, ON - The Steelheads closed out 2015 with an afternoon tilt in North Bay for the Battalion's annual New Year's Eve game. Unfortunately for the Trout, it would be the Battalion who closed out the year on a positive note, topping the Steelheads 6-3.

Mike Amadio scored two goals, Kyle Wood had one goal and one assist and Kyle Potts also scored for the Battalion, who improved to 18-13-3 for 39 points, tied with the Niagara IceDogs for third place in the Central Division at the halfway point of the season.

Daniel De Sousa, Daniel Muzito-Bagenda and Owen Tippett each had one goal and one assist for Mississauga, in their fifth straight loss and 18-16-4 record for 40 points, second in the division. Mississauga goaltender, Jack Flinn allowed three goals on 14 shots before Joseph Murdaca came on in relief. Murdaca allowed two goals on 10 shots.

The Steelheads will kick off 2016 tomorrow afternoon in Owen Sound for a 2:00 p.m. start against the Attack.
