Ottawa 67's News Release

At St. Catharines, the 67's suffered a tough 4-3 loss to the Niagara IceDogs on Saturday night.

Ottawa stormed to a 3-0 advantage, but the IceDogs rallied to tie the match late in the third, then score the game-winner with less than two minutes remaining.

Defenceman William Lochead scored his first career OHL goal at 18:27 of the final period to give the IceDogs the win and send the 67's away with nothing.

Ottawa had a 2-0 advantage after the opening period on goals by Dante Salituro and rookie Austen Keating, then expanded on the lead early in the second on a power play goal by Sam Studnicka.

But Niagara got to within one later in the middle period on goals by Ryan Mantha and Jordan Maletta.

In the third, Maletta scored at 15:49, 20 seconds after the 67's were nabbed for having too many players on the ice.

Liam Herbst played in goal for the 67's and made 23 saves.

The loss dropped the 67's to 18-18-1-0 on the season.

The 67's are in Mississauga on Sunday to face the Steelheads before returning to Ottawa. The next home game at TD Place is Friday, January 8 against the Peterborough Petes at 7 p.m.

Tickets are available at the 67's website, or by calling 613-232-6767, ext. 1.
