Bats Fall to Sox, 4-1

LOUISVILLE, Ky.- The Bats dropped the second game of a three-game series against the Pawtucket Red Sox 4-1 on Saturday night at Slugger Field.

Pawtucket scored the first run of the night in the top of the second on a sacrifice fly by right-fielder Rainel Rosario.

Louisville answered with a run in the bottom of the second after designated hitter Jermaine Curtis scored on an RBI ground out by third baseman Jordan Pacheco, which made the score, 1-1.

The score remained tied until Pawtucket hit a solo home run in top of the sixth. The PawSox increased their lead to 4-1 with a two-run homer in the top of the seventh.

Righty Keyvius Sampson (2-3, 2.31) took the loss after pitching six and one-third innings, allowing three walks, seven hits, and four runs, including two home runs, while ringing up eight strikeouts. On rehab with the Reds, right-hander Michael Lorenzen finished the game for the Bats, pitching the top of the ninth, giving up one hit and striking out one.

The win went to Pawtucket starter, righty Justin Haley (1-0, 1.13) after he pitched eight innings, gave up three hits and one run, and threw seven strikeouts. PawSox righty Noe Ramirez earned his third save of the season after pitching one inning and striking out one.

The Bats take on the Red Sox tomorrow at 6:05 p.m. with righty Stephen Johnson (0-3, 4.98) taking the mound against Pawtucket's right-hander William Cuevas (4-3, 3.29).
