Orioles Make Three Roster Moves

The Orioles today announced that they have reinstated RHP YOVANI GALLARDO and INF J.J. HARDY from the 15-day disabled list and optioned LHP T.J. McFARLAND to Triple-A Norfolk.

Gallardo, 30, was placed on the 15-day disabled list on April 23 with right shoulder bicep tendinitis. He made three rehabilitation starts between Class A-Advanced Frederick and Triple-A Norfolk, going 1-0 with a 4.85 ERA (7 ER/13.0 IP) over the three games. In two rehab starts with the Tides, Gallardo went 1-0 with a 3.60 ERA (4 ER/ 10.0 IP) and 10 strikeouts. In four starts with the Orioles this season, Gallardo has gone 1-1 with a 7.00 ERA (14 ER/18.0 IP). Over 251 career Major League games (248 starts), he has gone 103-76 with a 3.70 ERA (613 ER/1491.2 IP) and 1356 strikeouts. He is scheduled to start today's game against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Hardy, 33, was placed on the 15-day disabled list on May 3 (retroactive to May 2) with a left foot fracture. He played in three rehabilitation games with Double-A Bowie, batting .364/.417/.364 (4-for-11) with a walk and a run scored. Hardy has hit .244/.291/.410 with seven doubles, two home runs, and eight RBI in 22 games with the Orioles this season. In 1395 career Major League games, the two-time All-Star has batted .257/.307/.413 with 177 home runs and 624 RBI.

McFarland, 27, went 1-2 with a 5.14 ERA (12 ER/21.0 IP) in 13 games with the Orioles this season.
