Louisville Bats News Release

LOUISVILLE, KY - The Bats fall 6-1 to the Knights in the series finale on Sunday afternoon at Louisville Slugger Field.

After a three-up, three-down start to the game, Louisville loaded the bases with two outs in the home half of the first, but Charlotte staved off the threat with a strikeout, as the Bats left three stranded.

The Knights opened the scoring in the fourth as Adam Haseley sent a solo shot over the left field wall. Charlotte added one more in the inning when a throwing error by Reds' rehabber Jonathan India allowed a runner to score from second, giving the Knights a 2-0 lead.

Louisville struck back in the next inning as Trey Amburgey earned a leadoff walk and advanced to third following two more walks by the Knights pitching staff. He was brought home on an RBI sac fly from Reds' rehabber Donovan Solano, cutting into Charlotte's lead 2-1.

Randy Wynne (1-6, 4.43) tossed 6.2 quality innings, only allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits with no walks and three strikeouts. The outing was Wynne's third quality start of the year and was the first time a Bats starter pitched into the seventh inning in back-to-back games (Ben Lively 7.0ip 6/11).

Charlotte added four more runs in the final three innings to take the series finale 6-1.

Up next, the Bats will enjoy a day off on Monday, June 13 before traveling to Durham, North Carolina to take on the Durham Bulls for a six-game series June 14 - June 19.
