
Bark in the Park, Paint the Park Pink, Fireworks Top Homestand

(STATE COLLEGE, PA) - The State College Spikes return home to Medlar Field at Lubrano Park for a six-game homestand running from Tuesday, July 28 to Sunday, August 2, featuring a jam-packed promotional slate. Highlights include the return of $1 Beer Thursday, Bark in the Park Night on Saturday, a pair of fantastic FIREWORKS shows, and the annual Paint the Park Pink Night to raise funds and awareness in the fight against breast cancer on Sunday.
The Vermont Lake Monsters (Oakland Athletics) and Lowell Spinners (Boston Red Sox) provide the opposition for three games apiece over the six-game stretch. The fun begins on Tuesday when the Spikes take on Vermont at 7:05 p.m., with the first 500 fans receiving a 10th Season Spikes T-Shirt Giveaway presented by McClure Mechanical Services as part of the T-Shirt Tuesday series presented by The B94.5. Ballpark gates open to the public at 6 p.m.
Wednesday, fans at the Spikes' 7:05 p.m. matchup against the Lake Monsters can enjoy the value of Half-Price Wednesday, presented by BIG Froggy 101. Fans can get into the park with half-price Outfield Bleacher seats, then enjoy half-price 16-oz. select domestic draft beers from 6-8 p.m. and half-price medium sodas all game long.
$1 Beer Thursday, presented by 93.7 THE BUS, then returns when the Spikes face Vermont in the finale of a three-game set. First pitch will be at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday, and fans can purchase 12-oz. select domestic draft beers for just $1 apiece from 6-8 p.m. Plus, it's Guys Night Out with a Spikes Athletic Cup Giveaway, presented by Boyles Insurance.
The future Red Sox then come to town on Friday when Lowell rolls in for a 7:05 p.m. game. The weekend begins with a fantastic FIREWORKS show presented by Vision Creative Solutions and ESPN Radio 1450. Fans can also take advantage of the 4 for $44 Friday Northwest Family Value Ticket Package, with four of the best seats in the house, four hot dogs and four small sodas available for just $44.
Saturday, the Spikes face the Spinners at 7:05, and fans can bring their dogs to the ballpark for a night of four-legged fun at Bark in the Park Night, presented by Metzger Animal Hospital, Happy 103 and the Centre Daily Times. In addition to all of the usual canine-related activities, dogs will also be able to run the bases after the game.
Sunday, it's one of the biggest nights on the Spikes promotional calendar with the annual Paint the Park Pink Night, presented by Mount Nittany Health, as the Spikes take on Lowell at 6:05 p.m. The first 1,000 fans of all ages through the gates when they open at 5:00 p.m. will receive a Pink Camouflage Replica Jersey courtesy of Mount Nittany Health. Fans can also enjoy FIREWORKS after Sunday night's game.
In addition, the Spikes will wear special Pink Camouflage Jerseys, which will then be up for bids during the game in a Jersey-off-the-Back Auction benefiting the Breast Care Center at Mount Nittany Medical Center through the The Foundation for Mount Nittany Medical Center, with the winners receiving them on the field shortly after the final out of the night is made.
For the first time ever, fans will also be able to literally Paint the Park Pink on Sunday. Selected ballpark areas will be available to paint, with six-inch blocks ready to receive a fresh coat with a $5 donation to The Foundation for Mount Nittany Medical Center to benefit breast cancer research.
Single-game tickets for each game from July 28 through August 2, as well as every regular season home date through September 6, are currently on sale through the Spikes Box Office and online at State College Spikes.com. Fans can visit the Box Office in person weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., or call (814) 272-1711. Fans purchasing online have the ability to print their tickets using a home computer and printer.
Groups of 20 or more can also purchase discounted tickets for any of the Spikes' remaining home dates. Additional benefits of booking a group for a Spikes home game include preferred seating and an exclusive early entrance.
