Delaware Blue Coats News Release
WILMINGTON - The Delaware Blue Coats (15-19), the NBA G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, defeated the Erie BayHawks (17-17), 108-100, on Monday night at 76ers Fieldhouse for the team's third-straight victory. Six Blue Coats players scored in double figures and the bench outscored Erie's reserves 45-18.
Matt Farrell and D.J. Hogg paced the Blue Coats with 16 points each. Hogg added eight rebounds in 28 minutes as a starter, while Farrell rounded out his stat line with six assists and four rebounds in 29 minutes off the bench. Rashad Vaughn (5-15 fg, 2-8 3fg, 2-2 ft) and Jared Brownridge (6-16 fg, 2-8 3fg) both finished with 14 points.
76ers assignment player Justin Patton posted 12 points (4-8 fg, 4-6 ft), four rebounds and four blocks in 19 minutes as a reserve. Norvel Pelle started and recorded a double-double with 10 points (5-8 fg, 0-2 ft) and 13 rebounds in 28 minutes.
After trailing by as many as 15 points in the first quarter, the Blue Coats led 58-57 at the midway point before outlasting the BayHawks in the second half.
"It was a balanced effort," said head coach Connor Johnson. "They're a gritty, physical team and they play really hard, and we respect them for that. We did a good job sharing the ball. It wasn't anyone's night, in particular, but sometimes you just need to gut it out and get a good team win."
Terrence Jones led the way for Erie with a game-high 30 points (11-22 fg, 1-5 3fg, 7-11 ft) to go along with six rebounds and seven assists in 37 minutes. Jaylen Morris posted 19 points (7-15 fg, 2-7 3fg, 3-4 ft), three rebounds and four assists in 33 minutes, while Isaac Humphries added a double-double with 14 points (6-14 fg, 1-4 3fg, 1-2 ft) and 17 rebounds in 34 minutes.
The Blue Coats seek a fourth-straight victory on Wednesday night against the Capital City Go-Go. Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m. at 76ers Fieldhouse. For more information or to purchase tickets, please visit SIXERS.COM/BlueCoats.
