
Back-To-Back Home Runs Help Rox to 5-2 Win

St. Cloud, Minn. - The St. Cloud Rox and the Thunder Bay Border Cats were back at Joe Faber Field for game two Tuesday night with a Jimmy Buffett Theme at the ballpark. The Rox took down the Border Cats by a final of 5-2.
Thunder Bay's Tyler Duplantis scored a solo home run on two outs right away in the first inning taking the Border Cats to a 1-0 lead over the Rox.
The Rox answered in the bottom of the fourth with back-to-back home runs by Adam Martin and Luke Weber making it a 2-1 game.
In the top of the fifth the Border Cats would post another run off a double by Cory Kay to tie the game up at two each.
Blake Headley would lead off the bottom half of the fifth with a single and advanced to second as Bradley Strong was putout at first. With two outs for the Rox, left fielder Tim Colwell singled up the middle scoring Headley to regain the lead 3-2.
The Rox would seal their fate Tuesday night in the bottom of the eighth as Colwell posted a lead off double to left field and on a fly out by Martin he moved to third. Weber was able to reach first on an error by the shortstop and a single by Chris Paul would score Colwell for a 4-2 lead. Eric Loxtercamp hit a RBI single to put the Rox up 5-2 over Thunder Bay.
Rox' pitcher Reese Gregory would hold the Border Cats to only one hit in the ninth to end the game with a 5-2 victory over Thunder Bay.
Starting on the mound tonight was Kyle Davis as he pitched six innings of work and recorded the win moving his record to 4-1 on the season. Jay Flaa saw an inning of action on the mound and was later relieved by Reese Gregory. Gregory pitched two innings allowing one hit and tallying his second save of the season.
The St. Cloud Times Rox' Player of the Game is Tim Colwell. Colwell went 3-for-4 including a double and earning an RBI as he played in left and right field for the Rox in tonight's win.
The St. Cloud Rox (18-23, 4-2 Second Half) and the Thunder Bay Border Cats (14-27, 1-5 Second Half) will be back in action again Wednesday night for game three of a four game series. Game time is slated for 7:05 p.m. from Faber Field.
