Victoria Royals News Release
Victoria, B.C. - Babcock Canada and the Victoria Royals are proud to announce a five-year partnership in support of Canadian Armed Forces Military Appreciation Month.
During the month of November, the Victoria Royals will host five games, which will honour military members and their families. Canadian Armed Forces Military Appreciation night will take place November 6th and will feature a special military themed jersey that will be auctioned off with proceeds going to the Military Family Resources Centre (MFRC) in Esquimalt.
Since 2008, Babcock has been trusted to design, build, manage, operate and maintain critical assets vital to the delivery of critical public services within the marine, land, aviation and nuclear sector. Babcock has also worked alongside our Team Victoria-Class partners to maintain, refit and upgrade the Victoria-Class submarines.
"Babcock is delighted to partner with the Victoria Royals on Canadian Armed Forces Military Appreciation Month. This month is not only to honour military members, but also their families," said Mike Whalley, President of Babcock Canada. "Our partnership with the Victoria Royals for the next five years not only shows our commitment to supporting the communities in which we live and work, but also the value that Babcock places in developing partnerships with community organizations to jointly recognize military members and their families. We are proud of the work that we do on the Victoria In-Service Support Contract, alongside the Royal Canadian Navy and our industry partners supporting Canada's fleet of Victoria-Class submarines."
Every Friday game in November, Babcock Canada and the Victoria Royals will provide a discount on tickets to military members and their families to come cheer on the Royals at home. Honouring military families has been an ongoing initiative for the team since the club moved to Victoria 11 years ago.
"We're thrilled to partner with Babcock Canada to support our military members and their families," said GM and Head Coach Dan Price. "It's an honour to be able to wear a special military themed jersey for our Canadian Armed Forces Military Appreciation Night and we look forward to welcoming the members and their families to the SOFMC."
