Sunday, August 16, 2015 - Game #119 - Road Game #62

New Britain Stadium - New Britain, CT - 1:35 PM

LAST GAME: The B-Mets scored one run for the second straight game, falling, 3-1, to New Britain Saturday night at New Britain Stadium. Binghamton went 1-for-8 with men in scoring position, as they dropped the first two games of the series. Vince Belnome had two hits and drove in the lone run. Gavin Cecchini added two hits as well.

BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Tyler Pill is making his third start with Binghamton this season and first with New Britain. He has worked into the sixth inning in each of his first two starts, winning both. He allowed two runs and three hits in 5.2 innings against Trenton in his last time out. Pill faced the Rock Cats four times last season, never earning a decision.

NEW BRITAIN STARTER: LHP Harrison Musgrave is making his seventh start of the season and second against Binghamton. He earned the loss in the first go-round, allowing eight runs in just 1.2 innings. However, seven of the eight runs allowed were unearned. He's coming off a loss, allowing three runs and six hits in five innings at Reading.

LAST STAND: This will be the final game for Binghamton at New Britain Stadium before the Rock Cats move to Hartford in 2016. This is also the final series between these teams in 2015. Binghamton has already won the season series, taking 10 of the first 14 matchups. It's the most B-Met victories against New Britain since winning 12 games in 2004. New Britain has won their first series against Binghamton this year.

7/11: Binghamton is 7-2-2 in their last 11 series. The B-Mets have already dropped the series in New Britain and look to avoid the sweep Sunday.

NO OFFENSE: Binghamton has been held to one run in each of the first two games in the series, registering just six total hits. The B-Mets have struck out 26 times in the series already, the most over a two game span (nine innings) since July, 2013. It's the first time Binghamton has been held to fewer than two runs in back-to-back games since June 24-25th against Harrisburg. It hasn't happened in three straight games since July, 2008.

JARED IS KING: Jared King has driven in 15 runs over his last 22 games, batting in the last three spots of the lineup in every start during that stretch.

MAKING THEM COUNT: Vince Belnome has three hits in his last 21 at-bats, but has still driven in a run in three of his last four games. Saturday was Belnome's first multi-hit game in his last nine games played.

G0000MEZ: Gilbert Gomez has gone hitless in his last 10 games. He has not registered a hit since July 29th, going 0-for-14 in his last 10 games. He is 1-for-20 since July 19th. Gomez is 0-for-10 as a pinch-hitter this season.

2-FOR-1: Gavin Cecchini has registered multiple hits in 11 of his last 18 games. He is batting .364 since the All-Star break.

HOMERS: The B-Met starting rotation has allowed 14 home runs in their last 27 games. Meanwhile, the bullpen has allowed five home runs since June 15th.

ROAD: Binghamton is 5-7 in their last 12 road games.

K-ROD: Josh Rodriguez is hitless in last 15 at-bats, with seven of them ending in strikeout. Rodriguez has still gotten on base, drawing eight walks and getting hit by a pitch over the five games. He has not played since Tuesday.

NEXT GAME PREVIEW: The B-Mets are off Monday before returning home. They begin a series with Richmond Tuesday at 6:35 PM. RHP Seth Lugo starts against LHP Matt Gage.
